THE PROBLEM

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a neurodevelopmental condition, AFFECTING how people think, learn, and behave. IT presents differently In women and girls, leading to underdiagnosis.

For every girl diagnosed, 2–3 boys are, and up to 75% of girls with ADHD go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed.

When these young women reach university, the shift in environment can expose their symptoms—often showing up as declining mental health, academic challenges, and strained relationships.

THE SOLUTION

focusHer is a UK-wide university campaign raising awareness about ADHD in women and helping them spot signs of undiagnosed ADHD.

It offers immediate short-term support for those facing diagnostic challenges. Its community creates a safe, empowering space to learn and connect.

FocusHer believes ADHD isn’t a weakness—and is here to support every woman on her journey.

Pop-Up:

An immersive installation, which will appear during freshers week on University campuses.

Each stage of the pop-up guides students through the symptoms of ADHD, covering common misconceptions that lead to misdiagnosis.

Interactive Walls:

Pens on canvas walls encourage students to write their own experiences on the pop-up, fostering open, supportive discussions.

Pop-up Stand:

Having learnt about symptoms, this stand, at the end of the pop-up, explains the next steps of diagnosis options.

Here students are introduced to FocusHer, prompting them to visit the event to learn more.

Socials:

The event is also promoted on university students’ unions accounts.

Event Ads:

Posters and banners are situated around campuses, promoting the event.

Wayfinding & timetables:

Informational talks will discuss a wide range of topics, empowering women to recognise the positives of ADHD.
